The master of contemporary pulp fiction has just given the latest Tarzan film a shining endorsement! Yesterday evening Joe Lansdale took to Facebook to set the critics straight, letting us know that he doesn’t quite understand their dislike of the new installment. The Legend of Tarzan is yet another recent summer release that the critics have enjoyed pulverizing this year.

Mr. Lansdale starts out by stating “I may be out of step with the critics”, now Joe’s words sound awfully familiar. These are the sediments of many movie-goers of late that feel that critics have completely lost touch with the audience. However you feel about the state of critical journalism these days, I think it’s safe to take advice from a man that understands the source material and the genre.
