To me, this season just highlighted that Castiel is not really necessary to the story any more. The only thing he did was kill a dog and let Lucifer possess him. Other than the character added nothing before or after the possession.

I agree and really I don’t get why castile should return and sorry but he is not that great. the story is about dean and sam.

Ha, good analogy/comparison with that season and Bobby. Nodding along with that regarding Castiel. I liked what they did with Misha but Castiel was goooooone and it wasn’t the same, because I love the character.

I do think, post-Leviathan and Metatron, the angels ARE aware that Metatron was responsible, though Castiel’s allies, like Hannah, probably weren’t the majority of angels. But angels, with the exception of Castiel because he’s been changed by interaction with humanity, are dicks. Like you said, they didn’t even help and wussed out at the end.

Castiel’s personality shouldn’t change after the issue with Lucifer; he called that period a “torment” and he’s the opposite of Lucifer in that he’s an angel who actually did what God wanted, which is/was to value humanity, and he never stopped doing that. It’s ironic that doing what he was made to do made him a rebel in the eyes of Heaven, kind of like Sam going to Stanford and rejecting his dad’s revenge drive made him a rebel. But for ages, Castiel was a soldier doing what his father told him to do, like Dean.

I do regret that Castiel didn’t get a scene with God/Chuck that acknowledged that and Casifer did. He doesn’t even know that God brought him back all those times, technically, though that shows approval for what he’s become and his path.

Personally, I’d like Castiel to aid Sam and Dean against the evil!MOL side next year. He’s powerful, but obviously he can be banished and warded against by this human group and has some vulnerabilities. That can be explored more. I reject the idea that he’s too much of a high-powered Superman to be around – Superman still gets his ass kicked.

If Castiel is gone, so am I, ha. It would be a pity to sideline a character like this, not just because of the fanbase, but because of the potential. I have to say I feel the same about Bobby, though. And Charlie — they got rid of the tech nerd they could have called upon to get Dean motivated, when eh, almost killing her would have done that.

I disagree with you about castile he really is not been that great and the whole casfier was awful and its dumb for you to say that u would stop watching spn if cas wasn’t in that show. the show is about dean and sam. and I love that dean was the one who help saved the world. I really think that cas gets away with shit that gets annyoung, cas is not perfect and I really think its time for cas to go. and chralie diening was not deans fault. sam should not have lied to dean in the first place so yeah you are wrong val.

I thought cas was ok in seasons 4 and 5 but I really hated how he beat dean in season 5. cas was wrong for that and cas was dumb for letting luicfer out. I kind of wished that amara killed him in season 111. I also don’t agree about sam being sidelined in past seasons and dean is smart too its really annoying to say that sam is the only smart brother. I do like sam but sometimes he just gets on my nerves. dean has always been my fav and he has really grown in 11 seasons, Jensen has made dean real and his acting is just fantastic. jared is ok I like his acting too but Jensen is always top notch. not really a fan of mishas acting at all and I just really don’t see the appeal of casteil at all. anyway I love spn and I love the Winchesters esp dean:) so I really don’t care to much for side charcters like Charlie, cole but I like crowely but don’t need much of him either. i wonder what will happen next season. i will always love spn and sam and dean are the real heros that i care about. btw Jensen/dean is the best:)
