Episode Show Notes:

We were waaaay off! No Dash Rendar–not even a connection really. Unless this ship some how finds a way into the ownership of Rendar down the road.

  • **The YT-2400 Light Freighter was a light freighter utilized by the Rebellion as a troop transport.
  • The YT-2400 light freighter’s first appearance in Star Wars canon was in the 1997 re-release of Star Wars: A New Hope, where it is seen in the background taking off from Mos Eisley. The design was made popular with the Star Wars Legends multimedia project Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire.

TODAY WE WILL BE DISCUSSION ‘IRON SQUADRON’

Grand Admiral Thrawn is briefed on Mikapo (sp), and tells Admiral Constantine to personally head there to take out the Iron Squadron and the crew of the Ghost. This is almost certainly a test, but for whom is up for debate.

Synopsis:
The Ghost crew arrives at a planet to help evacuate anti-Imperial dissidents. They are assisted by another armed freighter that identifies itself as Iron Squadron, which forces an Imperial transport to retreat by dropping explosive cargo containers on it. Commander Sato explains that Iron Squadron used to be led by his brother, but he was killed in combat, leaving the squadron under the leadership of his headstrong nephew Mart. While the rest of the crew evacuates the dissidents, Ezra and Sabine board Iron Squadron’s ship and meet Mart and his crew. However, they are young and inexperienced, and their hyperspace drive is inoperable. When Thrawn learns of Iron Squadron, he sends a larger force. Ezra, Sabine, and Mart’s crew flee while Mart stays behind to try to fight the Imperials but his freighter is disabled. The Ghostcrew and Commander Sato return to rescue Mart, and barely manage to escape Thrawn’s ambush. Now safe, Mart and his friends decide to join the Rebels.

  • The dislike between Thrown and Admiral Constantine continues to brew.
    • What’s going to happen here?
      • I feel like it mind end up in Constantine’s death.
  • Did it seem like there was Thrawn vs Sato thing going on?
    • Seem to be some history–That was interesting because we really don’t know much about Sato.
  • By the end of the episode it seems like all this patience and baiting will in fact lead to something much bigger. What is Thrawn doing? We know that he is a strategist.
    • Where’s his Ysalamir?
    • Do you keep them out of the series?

I think in a way this episode was designed to show Ezra’s maturity and how far he has comes since we were first introduced to him back on Lothal.
