Meet Emma London: recovery artist and bounty hunter for hire. She is strong, possibly indomitable, and did we mention…part machine. Emma is the type that dives head first into things that most wouldn’t and shouldn’t. Those dark places that no one else will go to track down the subhuman criminals lurking in the underbelly of society and brings them to justice. STAINED first comes to life when Emma tries to take down a pair of international diamond smugglers, but her story explodes forward when initially what was thought to be a hunt for a priceless painting with a record high bounty, leads her to something darker and more monstrous than she could have ever imagined.

Review:

STAINED #1 is an exciting start to a brand new universe introduced by 2016 Harvey Award Nominee David Baron. The combination of David’s writing and Yusuf’s art work perfectly together as they draw you into this futuristic gritty sci-fi world of Emma London. David was able to create a fast paced intriguing story that makes the 21 pages race by. David created this world where these enhanced humans with bionics feel normal by not bringing any attention to the obvious enhancements. As much as I hope this is talked about in the remaining books, I don’t know if I really care, it leaves something to your imagination. This is the first of the five book series and only begins to peel back the many layers of Emma.

STAINED #1 leaves you where every number #1 should. Wanting more, asking questions and looking forward to the next book.
