The Star Wars Battlefront II Road Map Offers Release Details on New Content

Battlefront II’s Clone Wars update will be spread out over the rest of 2018

During last month’s EA PLAY 2018, we learned that EA had big plans to release The Clone Wars era content and it was met with grand applause. Now, just a few short days ago EA has followed up that bit of news with an official “roadmap” that details their planned release strategy. It would seem that EA’s plan is to release updates that would be spread over the rest of the year, with some Clone War content not arriving until the winter.

Minor updates are planned for July followed with the first bit of Clone Wars content appearing in August. Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku will come to the game in the winter, as will the new location Geonosis, where the Clone Wars began. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Grievous will arrive in the fall alongside an updated squad system and new large-scale mode, which would appear to be mode that was previously mentioned during E3, that puts the focus on capturing command posts and attacking and destroying capital ships.

This news has not been met favorably by fans on the internet, complaining that there’s no reason to spread the updates throughout the year. This ill-received news comes during a time when many fans are fed up with EA’s “mishandling” of Star Wars content. This game has been faced with criticism and controversy sense its release in November 2017. That being said, the new updates and the promise of 4 new playable characters, including more planned updates, this could turn the tide.

What are your thoughts about the updates? Post below.
